The lawyer for a Mount Royal University student charged with a break-in and a violent attack appeared before the university’s hearing board Thursday.
Former Mount Royal hockey captain Matthew Brown was charged after being accused of breaking into a faculty member’s home and beating her.
One of Brown’s lawyers, Kaysi Fagan, says while he won’t be permitted on campus, he’ll still graduate on time.
“He is permitted to complete his course work online,” said Fagan. “He will have proctors to administer his exams and he will graduate as scheduled, assuming everything goes as planned this spring.”
She says it was the judgment they were hoping for since Brown is currently presumed innocent.
His next court appearance is scheduled for February 16.
