Getting a tee time might be tough this weekend.
The Kananaskis Country Golf Course has officially re-opened to the public for the first time since serious flood damage in 2013.
“It’s five years on June 20,” head pro Bob Paley recalled on Sportsnet 960 The Fan’s Ryan Pinder in the Morning. “It’s been a long time coming. There have been lots of ups and downs in between.”
Paley added they had picked their opening day last October and were worried when there was still a lot of snow on the ground in mid-April, but it all came together this week.
“It was perfect here for our opening ceremony,” he explained. “Everybody was full of pride knowing what has gone into this. It’s such a special place. It’s been a gift.”
He said guests and team members were beaming to finally get back on the rebuilt course.
