Calgary police say a suspect in a domestic assault was fleeing a home when he was killed in a collision on Highway 22X early Tuesday morning.
Just after 1 a.m., officers were called to a home in the southeast community of Copperfield for reports a woman needed medical attention.
Police believe she was a victim of a domestic assault.
While looking for the suspect, police were told about a white pick-up truck involved in a deadly crash that matched the description of the suspect vehicle.
According to police, the truck was travelling east on the highway when it crossed the centre line near 104 Street S.E. and hit a semi-truck head-on.
