Canadian Blood Services looks for donations ahead of the long weekend

People are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves before or during the Civic long weekend.
Canadian Blood Services said they are hoping to fill over 200 appointments at clinics in the city.
Jhoanna Del Rosario is the territory manager for Calgary and explains that all blood types are needed, but especially the universal donor type.
“O Negative is the only blood type that is compatible with other blood types, and that is why we have a high demand for that blood type,” Rosario said.
Donors can book appointments online for the clinic at Eau Clair Clinic and there is a clinic on Monday at the Hellenic Community Centre.
