One person killed, one injured, when explosion destroys Alberta home

SHERWOOD PARK, Alta. – A woman is dead and a man is in hospital after a house exploded southeast of Edmonton.
RCMP say the home was destroyed when the blast happened Sunday afternoon in Strathcona County.
They say the woman was found inside the building.
The man was taken to an Edmonton hospital but there is no immediate word on his injuries.
A dog was also rescued and taken to an emergency veterinary clinic for treatment.
Investigators are interviewing witnesses as they search for the cause of the explosion.
