CALGARY (660 NEWS) – On Thursday, $1 million was given to support the Rotary Flames House, courtesy of the Calgary Flames Foundation.
For 10 years, the house has been providing enhanced programs and respite care.
“We are honoured to partner with experts at Rotary Flames House to support the incredible, compassionate and meaningful work they do to enrich the lives of these special kids and their families,” said Jeff McCaig, Calgary Flames Foundation chairman.
Rotary Flames House is the only pediatric hospice in Alberta and one of only six in Canada.
“This generous donation will help us to bolster the therapeutic programs we offer to enrich the lives of hundreds of children in our community,” explained Karen Butel, the Rotary Flames House manager. “From music and horticultural therapy to trips to the therapy pool at the Alberta Children’s Hospital or a special holiday party, children are offered a wide variety of recreational and educational opportunities not readily available in their home community.”
