Calgary women’s shelter receiving federal funding

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – There is new hope and help for women fleeing violence or living in poverty.
Calgary MP Ken Hehr is announcing funding Tuesday for the YW Calgary Hub Facility on behalf of, Jean-Yves Duclos, the Federal Minister for Families, Children, Social development, and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
The money is coming from the National Housing Strategy.
The announcement is at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Hub at 1715 – 17 Ave. SE
The facility will provide shelter and resources to 100 women fleeing violence or living in poverty.
We still don’t know exactly how much money is involved or the details of where exactly the funding is going.
