Meet the new RCMP robot, Ard-E

RED DEER (660 NEWS) – A new support robot for the Red Deer RCMP officially got its name on Thursday. Meet Ard-E!
Cst. Derek Turner said the robot will help children through police and court proceedings and can even dance and sing.
“The robot will kind of take them through a little process on what to expect, if you’re nervous, what you can do.
“By singing, dancing and playing games, Ard-E interacts with children in a way that adults can’t. This helps put children at ease during difficult and stressful situations, like giving statements or preparing for court.”
The winning name was submitted by six-year-old, Laney.
