Lockdown at Bowden Institution over staffing concerns

BOWDEN (660 NEWS) – Visits are on hold inside the medium-security wing at Bowden Institution, located just south of Red Deer, until further notice over a staffing complaint. Correctional Services of Canada began a lockdown as a precautionary measure on Monday afternoon.
They’ve issued a statement indicating they are working with the union and Social Development Canada to address staff concerns. 660 NEWS has reached out to both the prison and the Union of Canadian Correctional Officers for more information.
