CALGARY (660 NEWS) — The Alberta Election Commissioner has laid another fine linked to a former United Conservative Party leadership candidate.
A fine of $3,500 has been levied against Karen Brown, the commissioner says Brown contributed the money to Jeff Callaway.
The commissioner states the donation is illegal because it was made with “funds given or furnished by another person”.
This is the third fine the Alberta Election Commissioner has laid this week in relation to the UCP leadership race.
On Tuesday, two fines of $7,500 were issued against Cameron Davies, who was a campaign manager for Callaway.
The UCP has denied allegations Callaway was a ‘so-called’ kamikaze candidate who was only in the race to discredit former Wildrose Party leader Brian Jean and ensure victory for Jason Kenney.
