Two dead, two in hospital after car crash in N.E. Calgary

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Two women are dead and two men are in hospital after a collision early Saturday morning.

Around 12:30 a Toyota Corolla was turning left from Metis Trail N.E. onto 128 Ave when a black Hyundai travelling north on Metis Trail collided with the car.

Inside the Toyota was a family of four, a 65-year-old woman and a 31-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene. A 42-year-old man was taken to the hospital in non-life threatening condition and a 70-year-old man was transported in life-threatening condition.

The 21-year-old driver of the Hyundai had no injuries.

Calgary Police say speed and alcohol are being considered.

“I don’t know how many television adds we need to put out, I don’t know how many print ads have to go out there, I don’t know how many innocent people have to die before people figure out drinking and driving kills,” said Acting Sgt. Dan Rogers.

No charges have been laid, police continue to investigate.
