Out of province prosecutor being brought in to investigate UCP leadership campaign

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — The Alberta Crown Prosecution Service will seek an out of province prosecutor as investigations swirl around the United Conservative Party leadership campaign.

In a statement, the service says recent information is pointing them to seeking the special prosecutor to provide advice to the police.
Moving forward, this prosecutor will be responsible for giving information to investigators, at their request.
The Alberta Crown Prosecution Service will not be involved in the matter any more, and add the RCMP also investigate the matter independently.
Over $70,000 in fines have been issued relating to the Jeff Callaway campaign, who has been accused of throwing the race on purpose to help premier Jason Kenney
Kenney has continually denied any involvement.
