LETHBRIDGE (660 NEWS) — A 32-year-old woman is facing assault charges after randomly attacking a man in Lethbridge.
Police say the 64-year-old was moving a sprinkler in front of his home when the woman started yelling and approached him late Wednesday afternoon.
As he began to call 911, she hit him in the face with an object and ran away into a nearby home.
The man suffered significant injuries to his face, including a broken nose and cheekbone, and is in hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police arrested Ashlee Brooke Pederson, and she is in custody. They add the woman and the man do not know each other.
