Wetaskiwin RCMP investigate fatal crash

WETASKIWIN (660 NEWS) – A 22 year old man is dead following a crash in Central Alberta.

Just before 2:30 p.m. Friday, Wetaskiwin RCMP received a report of a crash involving a semi at the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 814.

Police say a vehicle was travelling eastbound on Highway 13 attempting to turn north onto Highway 814 when it collided with an oncoming semi.

The passenger of the vehicle died on scene, the driver of the vehicle was taken hospital but later released and the semi driver was not injured.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.

The victim’s name has not been released.
