Investigation underway following death at Drumheller Institution

DRUMHELLER – The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is investigating the death of an inmate at the Drumheller Institution.

The CSC said 42-year-old Jason Claude Tremblay died Sunday while in custody.

Since late March, Tremblay had been serving a four-year-and-nine-month sentence for drug-related crimes.

A lockdown was put in place at the jail’s medium-security unit to allow staff to search the Institution.

Visits were also suspended while the search was underway.
