Stoney Trail reopens after police investigation of suspicious package

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Calgary police have no reopened Stoney Trail NE between McKnight Blvd. and 96 Ave. NE.
A suspicious package prompted Calgary police to shut down a stretch of highway on Stoney Trail. Police say the package appears to have been a firework.
Southbound traffic was being diverted off of Stoney Trail at Country Hills Blvd.
Police asked drivers to avoid the area while experts try to determine the nature of the package.
It was found at the side of the road around 11 a.m.
