VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A transit enthusiast in the U.S. is receiving a special package from Metro Vancouver’s transportation network.
Jada Natalie Stevens, a designer for TransLink, posted to Twitter on Aug. 15 saying a California family had reached out to the organization asking for one of its transit maps. Their son, who has autism, loves memorizing them.
Stevens said in a tweet that TransLink has collected maps from other systems all over the world, and decided to send them all to the boy to inspire his “young curious mind.”
She said: “There is little else that pulls my heartstrings more than a kid who loves transit maps.”
In the Twitter comments, other transit companies jumped in to offer additional maps and commenters posted links to transit blogs.
