CALGARY (660 NEWS) — If you’re looking for some off-beat entertainment this weekend Beakerhead is in full flight.

“If you take art, engineering, and science and mash them all up together what comes out the other end is something you’ll see at Beakerhead,” said Beakerhead Co-Founder Jay Ingram.

The five-day annual festival has become so popular several events have been sold out well in advance, Ingram says this is because of a simple formula.

“We introduce you to science and technology through entertainment and as long as people are delighted by what they see we think that’s enough, we don’t think you have to have a science lesson, then you throw in art, you get a better reaction,” he explained.

Many events are happening across the city, some of them are free.
