Popular haunted house could be a ghost town this Halloween

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – An annual Halloween tradition in Calgary’s northwest may soon be a thing of the past.

‘Panamount Panic,’ a haunted house set up every year at a home on Panamount Street could be shut down after the city received a complaint.

Cliff De Jong with the City of Calgary said the complaint involved an obstructive view of the roadway.

“We do have some safety concerns certainly with the location and the size, the entry, exit of the structure.”

De Jong said they’re trying to work with residents on what options are available but added, not all hope is lost.

“There’s a few things available that we’re going to work through with the residents. We need the safety concerns resolved before we’re able to allow that structure to be used for a bunch of people coming in and out with a lot of traffic around.”

A petition has already started calling for the City of Calgary to reverse its decision and keep Panamount Panic open.
