Hundreds of crashes on Calgary roads including one death

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – One man has died following a crash overnight in McKenzie Lake.
Police said it happened just before midnight when the man’s car collided into a tree.
Officers say poor road conditions are believed to be a factor in the crash.
Police say since Tuesday at midnight at least 226 crashes have been reported.

Troy McLeod with the roads department says crashes like this serve as a reminder to be careful on the roads.
“Be further back from other vehicles, giving yourself space to stop regardless of whether the road is plowed or not.”
He adds if you’re driving, make sure you clear your vehicle of any snow to prevent poor visibility for yourself and other drivers.
