WinSport announces closure of hill as more cold weather waits ahead

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — With temperatures set to dip even further next week, WinSport has announced they will be closing their hill as a precaution.

On Monday, January 13, and Tuesday, January 14, both the ski and snowboard hill will be closed.

Temperatures for those days will hover around -30 with the wind chill expected to make that temperature drop even more.

Hours of operation over the weekend will not be affected, with people who hit the hill Sunday being offered a free small coffee, hot chocolate, or tea by visiting guest services.

WinSport is reminding those who do plan on stopping by over the weekend to dress in layers as temperatures could still drop significantly.

WinSport also made note that the Tube Park will operate its regular hours on Saturday, but will be closed Sunday.
