Calgary Superstore reopens after closing due to coronavirus

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A local grocery store closed last weekend because of a case of COVID-19.

The Real Canadian Superstore on 130 Ave SE in McKenzie Towne said an employee tested positive for the virus.

According to a post on the store’s Facebook page, the worker was last in the store on April 11.

The store was closed following the positive test and staff did a thorough cleaning before reopening.

It’s not the first time a grocery store or food establishment in Calgary has closed because of the coronavirus.

Last month, an employee at the T&T Supermarket in Marlborough tested positive for COVID-19.

Some McDonald’s restaurants in south Calgary also closed after an employee fell ill, the latest at the location in Forest Lawn.

Meanwhile, the 7-11 in High River was closed after a worker came down with coronavirus.

Some companies, including Safeway and Sobeys, are posting on their website when and where employees have tested positive.
