Two of the deaths were at continuing care facilities — one at Carewest-Sarcee in Calgary, the other at Manoir du Lac in northern Alberta — one death was an employee at the Cargill plant in High River and the fourth was in the Edmonton zone.
In High River, 360 cases have been traced back to the Cargill food-processing plant and 484 cases in the town.
Health minister Tyler Shandro also announced new measures for long-term care facilities as more funding will be going towards hiring additional health-care aides, a wage supplement of $2 an hour for aids and the province will work at fast-tracking aides that are currently in school.
