Driver arrested, charged after car crash kills three people

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – Edmonton police have arrested and charged the driver of a car that crashed into a Starbucks Friday morning, killing three people inside the vehicle.
Police say 25-year-old Oscar Benjumea of Ontario is facing multiple charges, including dangerous driving causing death.
Police apprehended Benjumea from his southwest Edmonton residence early Friday afternoon. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers arrived on scene around 2:20 a.m. Friday morning after an Audi RS5 slammed into the coffee shop at Calgary Trail and 55 Avenue.
Two females, aged 20 and 21, and a 32-year-old male died in the collision. The driver, Benjumea, had fled the scene.
There is extensive damage to the store and the car. Investigators believe speed was a factor.
