The 11-year old quarter horse came to the service from Airdrie in 2016 and he’s taken part in ceremonies like the Calgary Stampede parade and police recruit graduations. He’s also been on patrol.
Maverick has been a key part of the training of new mounted unit members.
In a tribute on Facebook, CPS wishes Maverick fun frolicking in the rolling green pastures of southern Alberta.
