Robbery, stabbing sends man to hospital in serious condition

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Police are investigating a stabbing that took place Saturday afternoon in southeast Calgary, less than one kilometre away from a fatal shooting earlier that morning.

Police say the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. in Forest Lawn, when a man was robbed and stabbed by two suspects after retrieving money from an ATM on 17th Avenue S.E.

Sgt. Jim Dalidowics with the Calgary police said the victim “refused to give up his money, and one of the males ended up stabbing him.”

Dalidowics added the victim was taken to hospital in “serious condition, but not life threatening.” The man sustained injuries to his arm and leg.

Police are asking the public to come forward with any information relevant to the investigation.
