Child suffers serious injuries after falling from window

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — A young boy was rushed to hospital in serious condition after falling from a window in northwest Calgary.

Paramedics were called to a home along Pantego Road in the community of Panorama Hills around 5:30 p.m.

“After arriving, paramedics determined an eight-year-old male has sustained a significantly high fall from a second-storey window,” said Stuart Brideaux with EMS. “Regrettably, landing on some concrete toward the front of the home.”

Brideaux said the boy was taken to Alberta Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.

He added this scenario continues to show the danger of leaving children unattended near windows.

“Certainly a screen is not a safety device and would not have done anything to limit a fall in this case.”
