    BIGHORN (660 NEWS) – The MD of Bighorn has declared a state of local emergency as a wildfire now burns out of control.

    The wildfire at Devil’s Head was upgraded from Being Held to Out of Control Tuesday morning.

    The wildfire is burning about 20 kilometres west of the Hamlet of Benchlands and is travelling southeast with the potential threat to people in the area.

    According to Alberta Emergency Alert, no buildings are at risk at this time.

    Those living in the surrounding area are now on evacuation alert which includes Richard’s Road, Highway 40, Waiparous, Benchlands, Richard’s and Pears Road, Ghost Country Place and West Jamieson Road.
