Calgary firefighters respond to garage fire in Southview

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — The Calgary Fire Department is investigating a fire that started in a garage in the community of Southview Monday evening.

Crews called to a structure fire around 6:30 p.m. near Cottonwood Crescent and 33 Street S.E.

When firefighters arrived on scene, flames were seen coming from a detached garage.

“The tenant of the home said that there was a vehicle inside the garage that started on fire first then spread to the garage,” said Battalion Chief Alistair Robin.

The large flames coming from the fire resulted in nearby power lines to fall.

No injuries were reported.
