Outbreak declared at Calgary cancer centre

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Alberta Health Services (AHS) is taking steps to contain further spread.

Two patients tested positive at the facility last week but fortunately, no further cases have been reported yet.

Contact tracing is underway and all impacted patients and staff are being tested

AHS said that the centre is still safe to receive care and all other operations are continuing as normal.

Active outbreaks are still in place at various health centres in Calgary, including the Peter Lougheed Centre, Rockyview Hospital and South Health Campus.
