CALGARY (660 NEWS) — A Reddit user came across a historic find at a Vancouver thrift store.
The user that goes by u/branden-branden was shopping at what they suggested could be the Wildlife Thrift Store on Granville Island, when they managed to snag a vintage jacket from the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.
The post was made on the subreddit r/MildlyInteresting but could be viewed as very interesting for many who reside on this side of the Rocky Mountains.
But, they didn’t just get the jacket.
What was on the inside and outside of the jacket was just as interesting.
Tickets to the opening ceremony, plane tickets, and stickers, as well as credentials for the games were all still left on the jacket.
The plane tickets may answer the question as to how it managed to make its way from Calgary to Vancouver.
From comments on the post, it seems as though the user intends on keeping the jacket, as expected.
While unconfirmed, some other users took it as their own personal responsibility to track down the owner of the jacket and managed to find a man who matched the appearance and credentials of the one listed on the jacket.
And while many have personally confirmed the owner of the jacket may have already passed away, thanks to u/branden-branden, the jacket will continue its long-lasting legacy.
