Missing Cochrane girls found safe in B.C.

Two young children from the Cochrane area who went missing more than a month ago have been found in another province.

COLUMBIA VALLEY, B.C. – Mounties say that two missing Cochrane girls have been located safely in B.C.

The Alberta RCMP Serious Crimes Branch says both the 5-year-old and the 2-year-old were located safe Wednesday evening in the Columbia Valley.

The sisters, who went missing in mid-March, were believed to be abducted by their aunt and grandmother.

Mounties have been searching for the girls ever since, but no Amber Alert was issued.

For now, the girls are being cared for by Child Services.

More information is expected to be provided later today, but so far officers say no charges have been laid.
