AIRDRIE – A Walmart location in Airdrie is closing its doors for the next while as it deals with a COVID-19 outbreak.
A spokesperson for the company says several employees at the store on Main Street recently tested positive for the virus.

“Out of an abundance of caution, when an associate who works in one of our stores is confirmed as having tested positive, associates identified as being in close prolonged contact are directed to self-isolate,” said the spokesperson in a statement.
The company says safety is a top priority and it is working closely with Alberta Health Services.
It also says the store will be taking steps to keep the store clean and safe for shoppers when they can return.
