Calgary’s Canadian Premier League (CPL) club will start its ‘Kickoff’ schedule June 27 versus York United FC in Winnipeg — the host of the single-site format to open the season.

After the games in Winnipeg wrap, the CPL says it vows “to re-evaluate the possibility of clubs returning to their home markets to complete the season in front of supporters at that point.”

Looking at the schedule, you’ll notice all of Cavalry’s games in Winnipeg are versus teams from Eastern Canada, meaning if the Cavs can play at Spruce Meadows again, it’ll be against teams in Western Canada like Pacific FC, FC Edmonton, and Valour FC.
