Horse jumping at Spruce Meadows set for this fall

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — There will be horse jumping at Spruce Meadows this fall.

The internationally renowned facility in south Calgary received full provincial approval Tuesday to move forward with its 2021 season, which will take place during the first three weeks of September.

This season’s events will be bubbled, which means there will be no public spectators in attendance.

Spruce Meadows is now applying to the federal government for a National Interest Exemption to allow for international athletes to travel to Calgary for the events.

A similar exemption was given to performers and competitors headed to the Calgary Stampede last week.

This comes as Spruce Meadows announced it is looking to hire dozens of three-month seasonal employees.
