Man wanted in connection to hate-fueled crime

CALGARY – Police are looking to track down a suspect in a hate-motivated attack on a woman downtown.

Investigators say around 9:30 p.m. on June 13, a woman went to collect a package from the lobby of her apartment building on 3 Ave S.W.

After grabbing her package, she was approached by a man who spewed a racist insult at her.

When the woman confronted him, he threatened to hurt her and then took off on a red bike.

Police say the suspect is about 25 years old, 5’10’’ with a slim build, and was wearing a black baseball hat at the time.

They’ve released CCTV pictures of him in hopes someone might recognize him.
