Police renew call for info in Memorial Drive hit-and-run

CALGARY – Calgary police are renewing their call for information as they investigate a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a pedestrian earlier this month.

Just before 2 a.m. July 4, police responded to 12 Street and Memorial Drive NE near the zoo for reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

The victim, a 25-year-old man, was transported to Foothills Hospital in life-threatening condition.

He is still in the hospital recovering but is in stable condition.

The driver didn’t stay on the scene.

Earlier this month, police found who they believe was the driver involved and their car.

Since then, they’ve also reviewed dashcam footage and CCTV footage of the area.

Now, detectives want to speak specifically to the drives and passengers of 10 vehicles that were in the area immediately after the crash.
