Kenney joins provincial, state leaders in calling for feds to open border

CALGARY — Premier Jason Kenney, along with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, and the governors of Idaho, Montana and North Dakota are calling on Justin Trudeau and Joe Biden to work together and open up the border between Canada and the United States.
The state and provincial leaders wrote a letter to the national leaders, which says while some progress has been made, we must end these unnecessary delays and restore normal movement across our shared border.

The letter calls for the reopening to happen as quickly as possible, in order to revitalize commerce and tourism.
Canada is set to allow fully vaccinated Americans into the country by Aug. 9.
The U.S. however says it will follow suit at least two weeks later on Aug. 21.
