Images, videos show wildfire burning east of Lac des Arcs

CALGARY — Fire crews are on scene of what appears to be a wildfire burning just off Highway 1, east of Lac des Arcs, near Heart Mountain.

Several 660 NEWS listeners sending photos in, showing off heavy smoke in the mountains.

Another video shows a helicopter dropping water into the heavily forested area.

According to the Alberta Wildfire Status Map, the fire is estimated to be about 10 hectares in size.

Eastbound Highway 1 is currently down to just one lane in the area.
