Alberta RCMP investigate after three die in SUV that crashed into oncoming truck

MORINVILLE — Alberta RCMP are investigating the deaths of three people who were in an SUV that appeared to swerve into an oncoming lane and crashed into a semi-truck.
Mounties say in a release that the collision happened late Tuesday night on Highway 2 north of Morinville in Sturgeon County.
Witnesses say the white-coloured SUV was being driven erratically in the Athabasca area before the crash.

Police say they are still trying to identify the three people in the SUV who all died at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck wasn’t hurt.
The crash forced the temporary closure of Highway 2.
