Brooks mayor resigns to run for Alberta Party leader

BROOKS, Alta. – The mayor of Brooks, Alberta is not running for re-election in his town this fall.

Barry Morishita made the announcement at a council meeting Monday.

He’ll be running for leader of the Alberta Party in its upcoming leadership race.

Morishita has also resigned from his role as president of the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association.
