Two Airdrie men charged following significant drug seizure

COCHRANE — RCMP have charged two men from Airdrie after hundreds of grams of drugs were seized during a traffic stop last month.

On July 17, RCMP in Cochrane received a complaint about an erratic driver on Hwy 1 and Hwy 40. Police were able to locate the vehicle and performed a traffic stop.

While conducting the stop, officers were suspicious about possible drugs inside the car.

Following an investigation, police arrested both men in the car for possession of a controlled substance.

A search of the car resulted in 228.8 grams of heroin and 22.8 grams of methamphetamine being seized.

Harvinder Randhawa, 43, and Charanjit Gandham, 35, have both been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance.
