Man dead, 1 in custody following assault in downtown Calgary

CALGARY – A man who was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition following an assault Tuesday night has succumbed to his injuries, police say.
Officers were called to 5 Avenue and 6 Street S.W. for reports that two men had gotten into a fight at an apartment there.

The one man was found inside the apartment with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to the hospital where he died.
Police say three others in the apartment were taken into custody, but two of them were released after questioning.
No charges have been laid as of yet.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.
