It has been a tough offseason for Calgary Flames fans after missing out on the chase for the Stanley Cup - but maybe this will add a little fuel to the fire. Harvey the Hound has been named one of the worst mascots in the NHL. Steve Seto gets fan reaction.

CALGARY – The Calgary Flames’ mascot is apparently not as well-loved as one may have thought.

Harvey the Hound was chosen as the second-worst NHL mascot by fans, according to a survey from Play Canada.

More than 2,000 NHL fans across Canada and the U.S. rated every official NHL mascot on a scale of one to five. Harvey scored a 3.5.

The only mascot to score worse than Harvey was Stinger of the Columbus Blue Jackets, with a score of 2.83.

The remaining three characters rounding out the top five worst mascots all come from Canadian teams.

Third-worst was Spartacat of the Ottawa Senators, Youppi! Of the Montreal Canadiens came in fourth and in fifth is Fin the Whale of the Vancouver Canucks.

However, the top mascot, most beloved by fans, also came from a Canadian team: the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Gritty, the hairy mascot of the Philadelphia Flyers, took home the prize for the most obnoxious mascot.

Harvey claimed bronze in that category.
