Mountain trail closed due to bear sightings

BANFF, Alta. – Several bear sightings in the Banff and Kananaskis regions have forced the closure of a local trail.
Alberta Parks says the Rockwall Trail near the Peter Lougheed Discovery Centre has been closed for the time being.
There are also bear warnings in place for Kananaskis Village, Ribbon Creek Trail, and Lac Des Arc Campground.

Alberta Parks says if you’re in the mountains, travel in groups and make lots of noise to avoid an encounter with a bear. you should also carry bear spray and keep pets on leashes.
Bears are out feeding ahead of hibernation.
