CALGARY – People working with the Calgary Airport Authority (CAA) will need to provide proof of vaccination, starting in mid-October.
The group announced its new COVID-19 policy to its 250 employees Wednesday after an internal review of the federal government’s August announcement that all commercial passengers traveling by air and all federal employees must be fully vaccinated.
The authority’s president and CEO says the CAA is committed to maintaining a safe environment for employees and guests.
“It was an easy decision grounded in our commitment to be a customer-focused and resilient organization. This policy is an essential part of helping our airport get back to normal as quickly as possible,” said Bob Sartor.

Contractors and in-terminal partners will be required to have a similar policy in place or follow the CAA’s vaccination rules.
Anyone who chooses not to get vaccinated will be reasonably accommodated and will have to follow alternative COVID-19 rules, such as being regularly tested for the virus.
Employees will have to disclose vaccination status by Oct. 18 and will have to have both doses of the vaccine by Nov. 15.
