Calgary man charged in bank robbery

Calgary police have tracked down and charged a man in relation to a bank robbery in the northwest last week.

Around 4 p.m. last Monday, police say a man went into the bank on 4 Street NW, approached a teller, and slip them a note demanding all the money in their till.

The teller handed over the cash and the suspect took off.

The bank called the police and officers spotted the suspect they saw in CCTV footage in the area a short time later.

The 54-year-old man was arrested and charged with one count of robbery and one count of wearing a disguise.

He’s expected in court on Nov. 24.
