Alberta is providing employers implementing the Restrictions Exemption Program (REP) with free online training to help them learn about how to manage situations that may arise during daily operations.
The 45-minute training will be available to both employees and employers and looks at how to assess those situations that may be challenging when trying to implement the REP.
It comes after the province announced $1 million in funding for training to support the safety of staff when implementing the REP.

“We recognize this has been a challenging time for many Alberta workers as they continue to do their jobs to keep businesses open while also ensuring the health and safety of their colleagues and patrons,” said Tyler Shandro, the Minister of Labour and Immigration, in a release.
“This training will help empower workers with the skills and confidence to safely implement the Restrictions Exemption Program.”
The training will also include information on how to keep workers and customers safe while implementing COVID safety requirements.
This includes requesting proof of vaccination or a recent negative test, physical distancing and masking.
Employers who want to enrol themselves or their staff in the training can do so here.
