The freezing rain, coupled with the low overnight temperatures, could lead to icy roads before the sun rises.
Calgary Transportation says it will be monitoring the forecast and will have crews at the ready should roads become hazardous.
We’re monitoring the forecast and crews are preparing for the possibility of freezing rain tonight. If you’re travelling be sure to prepare and leave plenty of time for your trip. #yyctraffic #yycsnow

“Our crews will be applying material to high volume roads, but residential side streets may be slick,” they said in a tweet on Tuesday evening.
Drivers are being encouraged to clear snow off their cars before heading out and to be mindful of the conditions.
