Premier Jason Kenney is denouncing protesters who rallied outside the Calgary home of Alberta Health Minister Jason Copping late Saturday afternoon.
About 60 people showed up at the protest to speak out against COVID-19 restrictions.
Calgary police were called in, with two people eventually being arrested and charged with breach of public health orders.

In a statement to CityNews, the premier says while all Albertans have a right to protest peacefully, it doesn’t mean you can trespass at private homes and harass the families of public officials.
“Unfortunately, this is not the first time that fringe anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists have tried to intimidate government officials in this manner. I am sure that the vast majority of Albertans reject this kind of extremism,” Kenney said.
Police say no one was hurt in the Saturday protest.
Demonstrators have previously targeted former Health Minister Tyler Shandro, and have even showed up at the home of MLA Tracy Allard.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw has also received threats from people who oppose public health measures. Alberta Health confirmed to CityNews in September that a private security firm was hired for Hinshaw’s protection after a threat assessment determined she required those services.
Meanwhile, Kenney and his family have also received threats of their own.
